What is Play Therapy

Play therapy is a therapeutic approach designed to help children explore and express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Through the use of play—such as toys, games, art, and storytelling—children can communicate what may be difficult to articulate in words.

This approach is grounded in the belief that play is a natural language for children, providing a medium through which they can process emotions, resolve conflicts, and build coping skills. Play therapy can be particularly beneficial for addressing a range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, behavioural issues, and difficulties with social or emotional development.

By engaging in play, children are empowered to explore their inner world, develop self-awareness, and work toward positive change in a way that feels natural and non-threatening to them.
